SilkQuit was the original stand-alone quit meter, born out of Usenet in the 1990s. It has been available ever since - free of charge - and has been used by millions of people around the world. Today, there are many clones of it available on mobile and web, and perhaps even some on desktop.
Thank you for using SilkQuit for the past three decades. It's been a pleasure keeping this going for so long. Thank you for your kind feedback over the years. I've always enjoyed receiving it and learning that this little piece of software was helping.
SilkQuit hasn't fundamentally changed since its release in the late 90s and while I had started work on an update in 2020, I have been unable to find the spare time to complete it. Knocking out a tool for a small community with no expectations in the late 90s is quite a different undertaking to releasing an updated experience decades later.
I have decided that it would be better for me personally to not have an eternally-unfinished project on my horizon every year.
If you are looking for a community to help you quit nicotine, please head over to AS3onFB where you will find a welcoming and supportive group.
